SO delicious! Go to this place!! Our family of five loved it! Affordable and amazing. A home run!
MoreDifferent than the traditional type of soba but very flavourful and great price.
Amazing place to eat! Must try here in Kyoto! Hidden gem for sure. Amazing super flavorful thick abura soba noodles (different than the thinner ramen noodles), crispy chicken is super tender, amazing deal for their lunch sets! No joke one of our favorite noodle restaurants...don't just walk by this place please.
MoreBest abura in kyoto! I’ll be back soon!
Great Food! Must Try this Aburasoba (Dry Oiled Noodle) The Chicken Kaarage is exceptional too! Love the set deal!
MoreA friendly staff, available to try the glutinous exture of abura soba noodle, and also Korean style cold noodle, but you should know quite different from the traditional KR one.
MoreAbura Soba (oily noodles) are delicious and very affordable at ¥700 for a large bowl. Not as oily as the name suggests either. The atmosphere is friendly, the restaurant is tiny and cute.Head here for lunch or dinner before or after a stroll in Higashiyama.
MoreFirst time having soba noodles and it is now one of my favourite meals. Highly recommend this place. Friendly service and the chef can speak English.
MoreMostly tourists eating here for lunch. Decent fall-back only if you have no other option. Soba is too salty with uneven flavoring but with good texture. Ramen is also average and overly salty. Staff speak English. Credit card accepted.
MoreGood taste and price.
Cozy and quiet place. Food os very tasty, it was perfect after sightseeing! I recommend It.
MoreThis place is great!! Literally just finished my bowl. I got #2 on the great deal set Karamisoaburasoba! It was a great bang for your buck! I highly recommend this place! I would come back here anytime!
MoreGreat soba! The chicken nuggets are tasty and the staff is really nice although they don't speak english. About 1000¥/person.
MoreFriendly staff, English menu, free WiFi! And yummy food
Great food and lovely staff. Beautiful little spot to grab some lunch while walking through the various temples in the area.
MoreDelicious food, friendly service, perfect experience. Far better than many other places we’ve been in Kyoto and way more affordable. Make sure you add the condiments to the noodles! And don’t skip the chicken tempura, it’s first class.
MoreVery good soba. "Medium" set for 900 yen is very tasty and filling.
The first time I visited this place in 2017 it was really good, the standard seems to have dropped now in 2019 and the noodles are not as tasty as before.
MoreI wandered in here on a whim and was blown away by the noodles! Super delicious! Lunch set was priced reasonably, and the service was very good. Highly recommended.
MoreLove it! Their soba is delicious and authentic. The place is not that hard to find. Price is friendly too!
MorePlease update the restraint as it is not cash only they do accept credit cards. Very friendly staff, good music. Right near some major shrines, food combos are well priced.
MoreMy husband and I stopped in while in Kyoto and it was a win. There is a set menu with combo options. Each item is pictured so you know exactly what you are ordering. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our order arrived at our tables within minutes. I really enjoyed the options for sauces and spices. We tried all the options and couldn’t pick a favorite. The venue is small but clean. The bathroom has a poster with proper edict for travelers which was great! We both would love to return to try more of the dishes here!
MoreMy second visit here (last one was 4 years ago!) Food and service are still just as great. Delicious Abura Soba and a nice calming jazz soundtrack. Highly recommended.
MoreVery tasty noodles. Nice service. As others recommend try the set. It's cheaper than the parts and very worth it.
MoreStumbled on this place. Unique, delicious oil noodles. Kids loved the boiled gyouza. Fried chicken also excellent.
MoreLovely abura and toriten :) I love the cat interior too 😺
Interesting and effective alternative presentation of soba noodles as a "dry" (not soup) noodle mixed in different sauce mixes
MoreNice place just outside main tourist area. Ok food good prices
I need more than 5 stars to describe how good the food was. Their soba is excellent and their chicken karaage was on whole another level!A tip for newcomers : Order their Regular Soba + Chicken Karaage. Don't forget to add the condiments!
MoreTasty and not expensive, but be careful with spicy sauces. The staff doesn't speak English. They do have English menu.
MoreDelicious soba! Amazing flavor by itself, but also with the little things available to add like 7 spices, vinegar, or onions. Sets are a great deal. Got medium original soba, chicken tempura, and rice for 900yen.
MoreDelicious food
So delicious cold noodles 太好吃了😋
A type of Japanese noodle without soup, trying it for the first time and it's delicious!
MoreDelicious soba, very friendly staff, an enjoyable and inexpensive local eatery.
Good food but very small so hard to find a table.
The soy ramen was a rich and flavorful broth, tasty pork and lots of green onions. Calmer place away from the water temple that's a great spot to relax after checking out that area.
MoreVery good service quality but the noddles are not that amazing compared to other restaurants in the area.
MoreFresh tasting ramen
Great aburasoba and chicken! Not so great gyoza. Fast service and English menu. Walking down after Kiyomizu-dera, this is the place where you want to eat.
MoreBetter than your expecting! Very delicious
Went here after a long trek up and back from Kiyomizudera temple. It was 3pm on a Monday which could explain the lack of line I totally expexted by looking at the rating. I ordered the spicy soba set with chicken tempura and boy did it live up to the hype. Make sure to sprinkle some onions onto your soba for an extra flavour hit. YUM!
MoreAmazing oil noodles - make sure you get the egg, pop it and mix it up. Easily my favourite unique yet filling dish in Kyoto! At the bottom of the Kiyomizu Dera, perfect place for lunch and then a walk up the small shops.
MoreReasonable price with great quality. Original soba is fantastic. Topped it up with an egg and it was flawless! Fried chicken is flavorful and retains the light crispiness, something that is not like typical fried chicken.
MoreThe noodles taste great and tempura chicken is also really good. Highly recommend getting one of the special sets!
MoreFriendly staff. There wasnt a wait when I visited. The food are generously portioned but a little bit expensive. The taste of the food is a bit bland but still enjoyable.
MoreThe spicy soba set was incredible, likely one of the best meals we've had while visiting Japan! Also the tempura chicken was off the charts, not to mention it was very affordable and the service was super friendly and really fast.
MoreThe brothless noodles were fabulous!
Delicious, close to many attractions and very unique soba.
Oddly enough, I didn't enjoy the flavors. Having good reviews I gave this a try with my family, 4 different dishes, expensive but big. All 4 dishes were odd, weird tasting. Not your typical soba or ramen flavor
